Karelia Pulp participated in the organization of the 90th anniversary of the Kondopoga pulp and paper mill, 26 June 2019

On June 27 the Kondopoga pulp and paper mill celebrates its 90th anniversary. Karelia Pulp, being the main investor of the mill, assisted by organising numerous events for not only the company employees, but also all the cuty residents.

In preparation for the celebration of the 90th anniversary several projects on provision of urban amenities were realisied with the assistance of Karelia Pulp. The square, fountains of the downton and the pedestrian bridge to the central passage of the mill were restored, landscaping works were conducted in the framework of the action “Green City”.

Moreover, numerous socio-cultural and educational projects were also implemented in the framework of the Anniversary. From February to June, with the support of Karelia Pulp, more than 40 events took place in the city: creative contests, research conferences, sports competitions, a professional skill cup, Miss Pulp and Paper Mill, intellectual games, an environmental forum, patriotic actions, exhibitions.The highlight of the event was the release of the anniversary edition of the book “Kondopoga pulp-and-paper mill: 90 years of quality tradition” which reflected plant’s 90-year-old- history filled with achievements and victories.

The main celebration event dedicated to the anniversary date will be held on June 27 in the square near the Ice Palace in Kondopoga. On this day, a festive concert with the participation of Russian pop stars will take place in the city. The concert will be a real gift to the company employees, veterans, residents, as well as guests of the city.
